Seeking Support Workers

Opportunities are available in our Supported Group Living program in Arnprior and/or Renfrew for Part time and on-call Support Workers. Hours include days, evenings, overnights and weekends; typical shifts are 12 hours. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing respectful direct care supports including personal care, dispensing medication, supporting individuals with daily routines, teaching life skills, meal preparation, household chores, driving association vehicles, respecting privacy and rights, maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications: secondary school diploma, valid first aid/cpr certification, valid driver’s license, current criminal/vulnerable sector check and drivers abstract report. Good communication skills, organizational skills and previous experience working with people with developmental disabilities. PSW, DSW, SSW, ECE are all assets.

The hourly rate for this position is $ 20.44 per hour along with additional vacation accrual percentage.

We offer benefits that include a paid Employee Assistance Program (EAP) along with paid sick, statutory holiday hours and opportunity to earn a Developmental Service Worker (DSW) certificate while working.

Passport Program Changes

The Passport Program, funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS), helps adults with a developmental disability be involved in their communities and live as independently as possible by providing funding for community participation services and supports, activities of daily living and person-directed planning. The program also provides funding for caregiver respite services and supports for primary caregivers of an adult with a developmental disability.

New Executive Director

Appointment of Executive Director
Community Living Renfrew County South
To all staff and management

The Board of Community Living Renfrew County South is very pleased to announce the
appointment of Jennifer Debenham as its new Executive Director effective August 16,
2021. Jennifer’s appointment is the result of a rigorous competitive process in which
she was the unanimous choice of the Board’s Selection Committee.

Jennifer comes to us from Community Living Upper Ottawa Valley (CLUOV) and is an
energetic professional with over fourteen years of leadership experience in the social
and developmental service sectors. She has distinguished herself with her strategic
and collaborative approach and has significant experience in consultation with
communities, families, and caregivers.

She was a key player in the CLUOV achieving a 4 Year Person Centred Excellence
Accreditation with Distinction and is presently completing her certification to become a
Certified Association Executive.

Jennifer has many personal interests and activities and is a resident of Renfrew.

On behalf of the Board of Directors we welcome Jennifer to our CLRCS family and
team.

The Bike Bank

The Bike Bank is a new initiative set up by the Ottawa Valley Cycling and Active Transportation Alliance (CVCATA).

The group is over 500 strong and are collecting, fixing and donating bikes to others who need one (adults and children).

Please see the attached posters – one for collecting bikes and one for giving bikes away!
